Hey Ya'll. Just had to share the recent good news from Jonesboro. Too good to pass up.
I like it when the media will give us some good news to pass on.
According to an article in the local Jonesboro newspaper recently real estate sales in Jonesboro and Craighead County have continued to be strong despite a national recession that has caused many markets to fall by as much as 30 percent.
Real estate sales in Jonesboro grew by more than 16 percent in March as compared with the same month in 2008 according to the Arkansas Realtors Association (ARA)
.
Steady unemployment rates, relatively low house prices and continued economic development have made Jonesboro one of the few bright spots in a dreary downturn in real estate market. Jonesboro and Craighead County’s inventories have remained virtually unchanged over the last year, ARA officials said.
"Jonesboro’s prices have traditionally been lower, and that helps their market remain more stable during a downturn,” ARA spokesman Ethan Nobles said.
Eighty-six homes were sold in Jonesboro in March, compared with 74 that were sold in the city in March 2008, Nobles said.
Now wasn't that some wonderful news!
Pass it along.
